What is a core charge?
CORE DEPOSITS

WHAT IS A CORE?

  • A CORE IS OUR SECURITY GUARANTEE

  • A CORE IS YOUR PROMISE TO RETURN THE OLD WORN OUT UNIT

  • A CORE IS A DIRTY BROKEN TRANSMISSION

YOUR CORE IS A VALUABLE ASSET TO Eurotrans

We must have your transmission cores returned in a rebuildable condition. Otherwise we would have no transmissions to exchange. In order to encourage you to make a timely return, we invoice you for the price of the rebuilt transmission, PLUS we invoice you for the value of the core.

A core return due date is printed on your invoice. A message warns you of a 15% penalty if your core remains out for over two weeks. We reserve the right to refuse the return of any core that is over two months overdue. If you need special consideration for the return of your core, you must arrange an extended core agreement at the time of purchase.

A core credit is not issued until eurotrans does a complete inspection of your unit. This may take up to 30 days after we receive your core.

Core deductions will be charged only if your core is in a poor condition. Some of our guidelines are:

  • Broken or cracked case, housing or casting
  • Missing components
  • Excessive gear and/or shaft damage
  • Ring and pinion not reusable
  • Damage to drum or planetary unit
  • Totally burnt or flooded units

eurotrans will fax you an explanation of any core reductions.

You may request the return of damaged parts for inspection (at your expense).

eurotrans main goal is to rebuild your core for the next customer.

If a core is too damaged to rebuild, it is of little use to eurotrans.

In most cases, cores may be returned disassembled. Please package the components carefully to prevent damage in shipping.

If you have a question about a specific problem you suspect with your  core, please call us. We can often give you a dollar figure based upon your condition report.
